Utne Hotel — Utne, Hardangerfjord

The Client
Utne Hotel is one of Norway’s oldest preserved wooden hotels, celebrated for its historic character and authentic fjordside atmosphere. The property blends tradition with understated comfort, making it particularly suited for heritage-focused hospitality photography, cinematic storytelling, and detail-driven visual production. From period interiors to carefully maintained architectural elements, the hotel offers rich textures and timeless environments that translate beautifully into commercial imagery.

What I Delivered
With a focus on preserving atmosphere while elevating brand presence, the production combined commercial photography, film, and drone photo/video to build a cohesive visual library. Coverage included interiors, guest rooms, and architecture-driven details, captured with a restrained, editorial approach that respects the hotel’s historic identity.

Food & beverage content and dedicated restaurant photography highlighted the dining experience, while lifestyle imagery added warmth and subtle narrative throughout the property. Portraits were produced when relevant to introduce a human connection, and aerial visuals provided context and geographic depth — resulting in a versatile collection of assets designed for modern hospitality marketing.

Location
Set in the small village of Utne along the edge of the Hardangerfjord, the hotel is surrounded by steep mountains, calm water, and orchard-lined hillsides. The fjordfront placement creates natural opportunities for drone photography and aerial film, where shifting light and layered landscapes help frame the property within a distinctly Norwegian setting. It’s a location that invites destination-led visuals while reinforcing a strong sense of arrival.
